Secure a seat behind the wheel of an AUTHENTIC Model T Ford built between 1908 and 1927 — right out of the Museum’s fleet of vintage vehicles — and drive the 2.5 miles of paved roads within our historic campus with an experienced and enthusiastic instructor. This is truly a fun and memorable hands-on experience that’s perfect for multi-generational family groups, couples, corporate team building, or anyone who wants to take a step back in time and learn how to drive, or get a refresher, in one of the 15 million “Tin Lizzies” built by the Ford Motor Company over 100 years ago.

Classes are open to all licensed drivers but are limited to 18 students each and SELL OUT fast! Registration is $105 per student, discounts are available for Gilmore Car Museum members. Cancellation and Refund Policy: Cancellations must be made by calling the Gilmore Car Museum at 269-671-5089 and leaving a recorded message as needed to receive registration refunds. Cancellations made after that time, or no-shows, will forfeit all registration fees and no refund will be issued.

The Gilmore Car Museum and TownSquare Media are proud to announce … the Insane Inflatable 5K is coming to Kalamazoo! Get ready to experience the most fun, wild and insane obstacle run in the world. Get “pumped up” for a course filled with the world’s largest and most extreme inflatable obstacles ever produced. Here’s your chance to be a kid at heart, and insane by choice!

COURSE DESCRIPTION

All of our venues offer a different and unique running experience. For the most part, we run off-pavement and on grass as much as possible. Certain venues have more grass than others, but we promise to make our course all about the inflatables!

  • Approximate 5K (3.1 miles) on combination paved and grass course
  • 1-2 water stops depending on the weather (feel free to bring your own water on course with you)
  • Start and Finish lines are located next to each other in the Insane Midway

EVENT INSTRUCTIONS

Get the scoop on everything INSANE. Where should I park? When should I arrive? What should I bring? Is there bag check?

Here are a few key points:

  • All participant parking will be in dedicated lots around the area. Please follow event parking signs. Parking fees may apply depending on the event venue.
  • Arrive one hour prior to your wave time to ensure you have enough time to: park, check in at the Registration Tent, get your bib and wave time wristband, check your bag at our complimentary Bag Check Tent and head to the Start Line.
  • Please note that you will be given a colored wristband that corresponds with your specific wave time. Wristbands must be worn and the correct color will only be allowed in the starting line corral. All others will be turned away. NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • Credit card purchases will be possible for merchandise, food and beverage at the event.
  • Bring your Driver’s License/State ID. You will not be allowed to pick up your bib and wave time wristband without it.
  • Please wear appropriate clothing/footwear to get you through the race. Shoes are ok to be worn on all of the inflatables.
  • You may bring a lawn chair or blanket. You may not bring weapons, drugs, coolers or outside alcohol. You may bring your own water (including on the course).

The 23rd annual Muscle Cars PLUS Show & Swap Meet at the Gilmore Car Museum will be West Michigan’s largest gathering of Muscle Cars, featuring hundreds of special interest vehicles!   • 2017 Feature: 1962 – 1971 Fairlane, Torino, Comet, Montego, includes all GTs, Cyclones, Thunderbolts, and Rancheros
  • Class Structured Parking — this means NO, you can’t park with your car club or buddies out of class
  • Open to all classic cars, admission includes entry to the Gilmore Car Museum exhibit buildings
  • No canopies on the show field
  • Swap Meet Vendors — No tarps, metal signs, or car hoods on the grass!
  • Show officially starts at 9:00am — no exhibitor admittance until 8:00am
  • Dash plaques will be given to the first 200 show cars
  • Over 50 tropies will be awarded, Awards Ceremony will be held at 3:00pm
  • DJ all day long
  • Door Prizes
  • A large portion of all proceeds collected by the West Michigan Muscle Car Club from Exhibitors and Vendors will go to charities including Hospice of Southwest Michigan and the American Veterans Association

On Saturday, September 16th, hop in your Model A and head out to the Gilmore Car Museum for the 5th annual Ford Model A Day and celebrate the heritage of a trusty American car with friends and family.

Special events and activities will be held throughout the day including a swap meet, a Model A Hall of Fame induction, special seminars, and more! Bring your Model A or come as a spectator, this show and swap meet will be sure to please as hundreds of Model As gather in Hickory Corners, Michigan on the Gilmore’s Historic Campus.

Smithsonian Magazine’s Museum Day Live! is an annual celebration of boundless curiosity hosted by Smithsonian magazine. Participating museums and cultural institutions across the country give entry to anyone presenting a Museum Day Live! ticket, providing FREE ADMISSION FOR TWO PEOPLE.

The Cadillac-LaSalle Club Museum will host their 8th annual Fall Festival at the Gilmore Car Museum, drawing hundreds of Cadillac and LaSalle enthusiasts and their beloved automobiles! This year’s featured marque will be LaSalle, 1927–1940.  There will be Cadillac and LaSalle Club class judging on Saturday and a Concours d’Elegance on Sunday, with a Drive-By Awards Ceremony.
