"The Silver Streak" by John Butte, Author and Collector
The Silver Streak is a 1926 Ford Model T. Over the course of eight summers, during the 1930s and 1940s, it traveled all over the United States. Along the way, the 20 Gypsy Coeds that rode in the vehicle over the course of those eight summers shared friendship and coming of age adventures.
John Butte's mother and aunt were among the adventurous vacationers who traveled in the Silver Streak in the 1930s and 1940s. John and his wife, Carmen, tracked down, purchased, and are preserving the unrestored Silver Streak.
