TODAY'S LECTURE:

"The Gale and Park Theaters - A History" by Keith Martin, Historian

At a time not so long ago, theaters were popping up in towns all over America. Soon after, the television became a fixture in homes requiring fewer and fewer people to head to the theater. Keith Martin shares the history of two local theaters - The Gale and The Park.

The Gale Theater was constructed and opened in 1941 in Galesburg, MI. The Park Theater opened in 1949 and closed as a theater in 1996. Both were built by D. Eli and Dorothy Frank.

Keith Martin is a historian and curator for the Galesburg Historical Museum.

The Gilmore Car Museum’s annual Winter Lecture Series is highly anticipated every year! Every Sunday afternoon at 3 pm January through April visitors can enjoy a different guest presenter speaking on a variety of intriguing topics. Admission to each lecture FREE for members, included in general admission and is just $5/person if you're only coming to take in the Lecture!
