"My Lifelong Adventure With Wine" by Ken Fischang, CHME, CMP, CTA, and Hospitality Industry Culinary & Wine Aficionado
Wine and cuisine have always been an important skill set for Ken. From an early age of six he started to cook in the family kitchen and by age twelve he was an accomplished culinary creator. Wine was also discovered and appreciated at an early age thanks to Ken’s parents who encouraged him to use wine in cooking, as well as tasting along with them at meals. As a teenager and a young adult Ken began his career in the hospitality industry and he went on to open two hotels, two convention centers and build two destination marketing organizations from the ground up. He has leadership sales and operations roles with three hotel companies, two convention centers and four destination marketing organizations over a 30+ year career path. Ken is the only person who has visited all 800 wineries in Sonoma County, CA where he was President/CEO of Sonoma County Tourism. Ken has served as a judge for wine competitions and as a speaker for numerous wine-oriented and association industry groups.
